The short version
Table Party does not display third-party advertisements inside games. Free games do not require an account. Table Party for Teams pages offer optional Google Ads measurement to understand which advertisements bring customers. Our server keeps a random device identifier, the name and optional photo you choose to play under, gameplay records and usage counts. Team rooms and the geography game use the additional services described below.
Effective 28 September 2026. This policy covers the Table Party iOS app and tableparty.io.
The device identifier
The first time a device plays, our server mints it a random identifier — eight random bytes,
nothing derived from you or your hardware. It is stored on your device and in a first-party cookie
named pnpid (kept for a year, refreshed when you visit) so that your name and photo can
be restored if your browser clears its storage. It identifies a device. Your chosen profile is linked to it. If you verify an email account, we link your devices to that account to restore saved progress and purchases.
What we store
Your player profile. The display name and optional photo or avatar you choose are kept against your device identifier so you don't have to re-enter them, and are shown to the people you play with. That's their only audience.
Gameplay. What you type, draw and play goes to the server to run the game and is shown to the players at your table. In ranked play, a finished run may be kept as a "ghost" — a replay future players race against, shown with the display name and rating it was set under. Scores, ratings and weekly-challenge results are kept against your device identifier.
Feedback. If you answer the post-game feedback prompt, we keep the rating and any comment you wrote, along with which game you had just played. Sending it is always optional.
Usage counts. We count things — rooms created, games started and finished, which pages people arrive on and roughly where they came from (a search engine, a shared link, direct). We use a random first-party acquisition session identifier, with a 30-minute inactivity timeout, to connect a public landing page and referring source to app entry, game participation and completed return. Acquisition records are retained for up to 45 days and are linked to a hashed form of the existing device identifier. The acquisition report contains aggregates and the latest 100 anonymous session journeys. For Teams, it includes campaign and keyword labels, page visibility and estimated engaged time, setup progress, room creation, multiplayer starts and completions, checkout progress and the first confirmed payment. The private room billing record links these milestones back to the acquisition session; the report does not display room identifiers. We do not store private invite codes, names, email addresses or full referring URLs in these records. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable this additional measurement; it is also skipped when local storage is unavailable. We use this first-party measurement to improve the product and understand acquisition quality. Historical activity before collection began is not reconstructed.
Optional ad measurement
Table Party for Teams pages (the Teams website, room setup and team rooms) ask whether Google may measure which ads bring teams. If you choose Allow, we load Google's advertising tag. Google can receive an ad click identifier and set advertising measurement cookies. On a confirmed purchase, we send the invoice transaction identifier, USD amount and a generic Teams page address to measure advertising results and avoid duplicate conversions. We do not send your room link, name or email through this tag. Ad personalization is disabled. Declining leaves first-party product measurement subject to the controls above. Google measurement can be incomplete when consent is declined, cookies are blocked or the purchaser does not return to the website.
Google describes its processing in its advertising privacy information.
Optional accounts
If you verify an email account, we use it for sign-in, saved progress and purchases. Linked accounts can receive game reminders, weekly summaries and new-game emails, personalized using their game activity. Each game email includes unsubscribe controls; sign-in emails are sent when requested.
Optional celebrations
Celebrations are optional one-time purchases. You can choose to verify an email account to restore them across devices. On the website, Stripe receives payment details and an email if you provide one to process checkout; card and wallet details never touch our server. We keep the email, celebration, order and payment references, payment status and selected celebration to provide access and handle support, refunds and disputes.
In the iPhone app, Apple processes purchases through your Apple Account. We verify Apple-signed purchase records and retain transaction and product identifiers, purchase/refund status, an app-specific Apple account identifier and a random account token to provide access and restore purchases. These records are linked to this device and, if you choose to sign in, your TableParty account. We do not receive your Apple Account password or card details.
Your profile photo is placed into the animation on your device; it is not sent to Stripe or Apple for payment. A winner's selected scene is shown to their game table using the participants' existing profile images. We retain device-linked celebration interaction and gameplay measurement for up to 120 days, using a hashed device identifier; owner reports contain aggregate counts.
Team rooms
Table Party for Teams gives a company or group its own room with a permanent link. It is free for up to 10 people, and paid plans add cameras and bigger rooms. It works differently from the free games in a few ways, so here is exactly what changes.
Accounts and invitations. The organizer verifies an email address to create and run the room. Guests give a name and verify an email address to take a place in it. The organizer sees each person's name, email address and whether they are in the room or waiting to be let in.
We use these addresses to send sign-in codes, to tell the organizer when someone asks to join, to remind a guest before game night when they ask for it, and for a few short notes to the organizer about setting up the room, each with an unsubscribe link. When the organizer invites people by email, we keep the addresses they enter and send each one an invitation from Table Party on the organizer's behalf. Ordinary free game rooms can be joined with a display name.
Cameras and chat. Cameras come with paid plans. Video and audio travel directly between players' browsers, or through a relay server when a network needs one. We do not record, store or analyse video or audio, and nobody outside the room can see it. Room chat goes to the people in the room at that moment; we don't store it.
Daily Leaderboard. If the organizer turns on the Daily Leaderboard in Settings (it is off until they do), everyone in the room sees how each colleague did on that day's Daily puzzles, played on any device signed in with the same email: their name, rank and points.
Billing. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our server; we keep the Stripe customer and subscription references, the plan, its status, when the paid period ends, any promotion code used at checkout, and the first payment's invoice reference and amount. Cancelling ends the plan at the end of the paid period, and the room carries on free.
Slack. If the organizer connects a Slack channel, we store the workspace and channel names and the channel's posting address, encrypted. From then on the room posts in that channel when a game starts, saying who started which game, with a link to the room. That post is on by default and goes out at most once every ten minutes; the organizer can switch it off in Settings → Slack. People in the room can also ask the channel, under their name, who is up for a quick game, at most once every ten minutes, and the organizer can share an invite, a booked game night or the latest team scores. What is posted stays in Slack under your workspace's settings. The organizer can disconnect in Settings → Slack at any time, which deletes the stored address.
Somewhere: Google Maps and Street View
When you play Somewhere, Google supplies the map and Street View directly to your browser. Google receives requests including your IP address, browser information and the map or panorama locations you view, and may use cookies or similar technologies under its privacy policy. The displayed locations are game locations; we do not request your device's location for this game. Your guesses are shared with the players at your table when a round ends.
Use of these features is subject to the Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service. You can avoid loading these services by choosing another game.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your data or use fingerprinting. The iPhone app does not load advertising measurement tags. Optional advertising measurement on Table Party for Teams pages is described above. Data is shared as described above to provide gameplay and the services you choose to use.
Where it lives
Table Party runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which stores the data described above on our behalf and acts only on our instructions. Team-room subscriptions and website celebration payments are processed by Stripe; iPhone celebration payments are processed by Apple, and team-room email is sent through a transactional email provider; neither sees anything beyond what that job needs.
Children
Table Party is a party game for friends and families. Free gameplay does not require a purchase. Optional account and payment features are described above, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can play under any name and skip the photo entirely. Clearing the app's website data (or deleting the app) removes the identifier from your device. Use Delete account in your profile to request deletion of your account and associated personal data within 7 days. You can check the request and its completion in the app. Purchase records required by law are retained. Deletion does not refund purchases or cancel Teams subscriptions. For help with your request, email hi@tableparty.io.
